HRH Prince Henry of Wales -

Prince Harry very much regrets that he is unable to join the team from the Winchester Nightshelter on the night of May 15th at Winchester Cathedral to raise awareness of the plight of Homelessness. He sends you his best wishes for a successful evening.

Canon Roly Riem - Winchester Cathedral’s Canon Chancellor and Pastor:

The Cathedral and churches across the Diocese are actively involved in projects working to provide help and shelter for homeless persons in our community. Giving money and going to committee meetings, though, is no substitute for the experience of not having a roof over your head. So with other colleagues I look forward to The Big Sleep Out and the renewed awareness and enthusiasm it will bring to our pastoral care. Please join us for the Big Sleep Out

Sarah Parish - Star from 'Mistresses' TV series (photo permission Sacha Gustav):

I want to say good luck to all those sleeping out
and hope that you raise lots of money towards
these charities working for a very worthy cause

Ed Mitchell - Author and Broadcaster :

Anyone can find themselves homeless if things go wrong -- and it can happen very quickly. Once in that situation, it's extremely difficult to get out.  Sleeping rough makes basic things like keeping clean, staying healthy and getting a proper night's sleep very hard. Being fresh and presentable for a job interview is virtually impossible. I know from my own experience of homelessness how important charities are for food, shelter, washing facilities and practical support. Quite simply, if it were not for the intervention of a charity, I would still be on a park bench and in a seriously bad way.

Philippa Forrester- TV and Radio Presenter :

So sorry work means I am unable to take part in the sleep out on the night but I wish everyone taking part the very best of luck for a great night. I hope that you are successful in raising a hugh amount of money for these worthwhile charities

Patrick Davies - Parliamentary Candidate for the Labour Party:

As a City Councillor, and Housing Board member, I was a strong supporter of the Nightshelter from the beginning. I am now delighted that so many local people have come together to make sure that this vital service can continue in our community. It is a wonderful example of co-operation between so many groups and individuals

Steve Brine - Parliamentary Candidate for the Conservative Party:

As a local person I am obviously very aware of the Nighshelter based in Jewry Street (behind the Discovery Centre) and the Trinity Centre so it was a no-brainer when they asked me to take part in the Big Sleep Out.  Please goto our Just Giving site and help us raise some money for this very worthy cause.
